Qifa Journal
Reflections from our School Leaders on memorable moments and highlights at Qifa Primary.
Term 3 - 2026
A Note from the Vice-Principal
Dear Parents/Guardian,
Term 3 has been a wonderfully vibrant term, filled with meaningful moments that brought our Qifa community together and gave our students rich opportunities to learn, connect and grow beyond the classroom.
Celebrating 120 Years of Qifa – “Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future”
On 3 July, we marked a proud milestone – Qifa’s 120th Anniversary. The day came alive with carnival games, learning booths, and a spectacular musical staged by our music teachers, showcasing the talents of students across our Performing Arts CCAs. We also launched Qifa’s first school theme song, “Now and Here”, written and arranged by our own music teachers. More than just a song, it celebrates the enduring community, honouring those who came before us, while inspiring our students to dream boldly, stand united and carry the legacy forward.

Celebrating Our Nation and Our Teachers
Our National Day celebrations were a heartfelt reminder of the peace, stability and harmony we are privileged to enjoy, and the importance of cherishing these shared gifts together. Teachers’ Day too, particularly a meaningful occasion. Behind every lesson are teachers who give generously of their time, patience and care, nurturing our children not only in knowledge, but in character and values. We are deeply grateful to our Parent Support Group for joining us in affirming our teachers. Your encouragement is a wonderful reminder that the growth of every Qifa child is a shared endeavour between school and home.

Qifa is not created through special events alone. It is built every day through the relationships we nurture, the opportunities we create, and the experiences we provide. We are deeply grateful to all Qifa staff for their dedication in fostering a caring, enabling environment where every child feels a sense of belonging, and has the space to flourish. As we close Term 3, we look back with gratitude on a term rich in music, celebration, connection and joy. As we step into the last term of the year, let us continue to walk this journey with the same spirit, and create more memorable moments together.

Term 2 - 2026
A Note from the Principal
Dear Parents/Guardian,
Over the past semester, I have found myself smiling at many meaningful moments that reflect the Qifa Spirit. One such moment was seeing a group of our P6 pupils proudly holding up handmade placards as they cheered their friends on at the National School Games. It was a simple moment, but one that captured something special about our pupils and the spirit of our school community.

Over the past six months, our pupils have journeyed through the new experiences and responsibilities that come with moving to a new level. Whether it was adapting to new subjects, building new friendships, managing greater responsibilities or learning to navigate challenges with growing independence, they have shown quiet determination and resilience in many ways. In school, our pupils embraced a rich variety of learning experiences beyond the classroom. From the P2 Roti Prata Discovery and P5 Camp to DIP Lite and Mother Tongue Fortnight activities, they were given opportunities to discover new strengths, work with others and step out of their comfort zones. Beyond school, many also represented Qifa with pride through platforms such as the National School Games, Singapore Youth Festival and the Wits and Words Primary School Debating Championships. What encourages me most is not simply what our pupils achieved, but how they approached these experiences with courage to try, resilience through setbacks and adaptability in unfamiliar situations. To me, this is the Qifa Spirit. These qualities are not developed overnight. They are nurtured gradually through everyday experiences, encouragement from teachers, and the unwavering support of parents at home. Thank you for partnering us throughout the semester and journeying alongside your children in their growth. As the school holidays begin, may this be a time of rest, laughter and bonding with your children. Wishing all a safe and happy holiday!

Term 1 - 2026
A Note from the Vice-Principal
Dear Parents/Guardian,
This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate our school's 120th Anniversary. Our theme 'Honouring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future' reflects the importance of this moment in our school's journey. We recognise the rich legacy that has shaped us whilst embracing our commitment to nurturing students to be Learners for Life, Leaders of Character and Contributors with Passion. We look forward to sharing various commemorative activities and a major celebration with our school community as we honour this remarkable milestone together. As we approach the end of Term 1, it is heartening to see how our students have settled into school life. One particularly encouraging example of their adaptability has been their response to our newly implemented central kitchen model. Our students have proven to be remarkably teachable, with the older ones mastering the new meal arrangements by the end of Week 1, whilst even our youngest Primary 1 students have shown impressive independence in adapting to these changes. This same adaptability shines through in all aspects of their school experience, as our joyful learning environment continues to provide students with opportunities to explore, discover and grow with confidence. Many exciting school activities have taken flight this term. Our Primary 3 students have embarked on their CCA experience, exploring various co-curricular activities that will enrich their school journey before they make their final choices. Meanwhile, our Primary 5 students have built resilience and expanded their learning beyond the classroom through the P5 Camp, forging stronger friendships and creating unforgettable memories together. Our Sports CCAs have also commenced their National School Games participation, demonstrating excellent competitive spirit and sportsmanship.
As we continue to support our students' growth, we kindly ask for your partnership in reinforcing school routines and the iCAR3E values at home. Building these positive habits early prepares our students to contribute meaningfully to both our school community and society through their character and actions. Looking ahead, we are excited to continue this journey alongside you and remain committed to working closely with all parents to support the holistic development of each student. We encourage parents to make the most of the upcoming March holidays by spending quality time with your children and engaging in meaningful activities that create lasting memories. This precious time together strengthens family bonds and provides wonderful opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. We extend our warmest wishes to our Muslim colleagues, students and families celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri. May this joyous occasion bring peace, happiness and abundant blessings to you and your loved ones. We also look forward to welcoming our students back for an exciting Term 2, refreshed and ready to embark on new learning adventures together.
